In early childhood, I learned that my words are valued and heard. This life lesson has been given to me as a gift by my mother. Mother. She told me this story often, always to my benefit. “When I tell my daughter to do something” She says “Why Mother”. Then I began my search for answers. She would pay close attention to me and give serious thought to the questions I asked. I often sensed her amusement and frustration. I asked question after question. Repeatedly asking “Why? But why? but why? Finally, half laughing half serious she would say, “Because Y is a crooked letter”. Temporarily satisfied. I would go off. To think about how Y might be a crooked-looking letter. It was my search for answers that taught me to be my own judge and decide. I was learning to think. Every day I spend time thinking about Y. I use it as a strategy to find answers and solutions. This is the power. That’s it. Thank you, Mom!! margiesdaughter.com
