1. Republicans eye Biden impeachment inquiry — but it’s a gamble
House Speaker Mike Johnson confirmed Tuesday that the House of Representatives is going to hold a vote in order to authorise an impeachment investigation led by Republicans into President Joe Biden. Johnson says that the White House refused to provide information. However, the Biden Administration claims that House Republicans had access to 36 hours of testimony, 35,000 pages of financial documents, and other materials.
House Republicans’ inquiry focuses on if the president benefited from his son Hunter Biden’s business dealings. Republicans have not put forth evidence showing that Biden directly benefited from his son’s business dealings.
