Michael J. Saul, director of animated music videos for Harry Hains’ song, has created an animated video in his honor. One Love. Jane Badler, Hains’ mother and a featured singer on the song, wishes to share her son’s vision for love and acceptance.
He was best known for his role as a spokesman in American Horror Story The genderfluid actor was also an experiment musician who tried to break binaries with Antiboy, his Ziggy Stardust-esque alter ego.
Badler tells Tracy E. Gilchrist that he created Antiboy, which is a play on the character–not quite boy, not really girl, Antiboy.” Advocate Today. He used this name and he believed it to be a futuristic character from 2025…which is part machine, part human and kept returning to Earth to undo the heartache. Badler says that Hains wasn’t identified with gendered labels even as a child. His passion for fantasy became an outlet to express his emotions through the creation of imaginary characters and worlds.
