1. UAW launches historic Strike

The United Auto Workers began a historic strike on Thursday night. They targeted all three major automakers in Detroit at the same time.

The unions at the assembly plants of Michigan, Missouri, Ohio and went on strike at 11:59pm on Thursday. The UAW has called the strike “Stand Up Strike” and it targets the three largest automakers in the area: Ford Motor Co. General Motors and Stellantis.

The UAW President Shawn Fain says that this tactic will “keep companies guessing”.

2. Hunter Biden is indicted for federal gun charges

President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, has been indicted on federal gun charges, marking the first time in U.S. history the Justice Department has charged the child of a sitting president.

Hunter Biden’s lawyer, Abbe Lowell, claimed the indictment was a result of political pressure from Republicans. He said in statement: “Hunter Biden possessing an unloaded gun for 11 days was not a threat to public…
