Play ball! A League of Their Own is returning to the screen in a whole new way…and we’ve got the newly released trailer to prove it!

The beloved 1992 film — which starred Geena Davis, Lori Petty, Rosie O’Donnell, Tom Hanks and Madonna — has been rebooted and revamped into the highly anticipated Amazon Prime series of the same name.

Created by Broad City’s Abbi Jacobson and Will Graham, the eight-episode series stars Jacobson herself in addition to Roberta Colindrez, D’Arcy Carden, Kate Berlant, Nick Offerman, and O’Donnell (in a role that has not been disclosed yet).

Like the film, the series will focus on the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. It was established in the mid-40s when men were still fighting in World War II. The league was revolutionary for its time and included 650 women who fought racism and sexism for the love of the sport. This time, the spotlight shines on queer players as well, highlighting stories that were not included in the Penny Marshall film.

According to Maybelle, an ex-player, it is ironic that the majority of women in this league were queer.
